The Human Resources Forum 2007

The Human Resources Forum is an event which gives suppliers the opportunity to build new relationships and affirm existing ones. It's also an event where you're likely to achieve more in three days than you usually do in three months!

Buying Intentions

We are pleased to announce that over 230 delegates (senior HR professionals) have now confirmed their attendance for this years Human Resources Forum.

Using our data The Human Resources Forum can identify which delegates meet your business development criteria and are interested in also meeting you.

After you complete a short online questionnaire, we will respond and tell you the following:

  • How many delegates in total are interested in your products and or services?
  • How many delegates match the criteria you have indicated?
  • Historically, the number of meetings we can arrange for a business selling similar products and services at previous Human Resources Forums organised by Richmond Events.

Please answer three questions by clicking here and we will tell you who is interested in meeting you this year at The Human Resources Forum.

If you would like to discuss taking one of the remaining supplier places at the forum in May please contact:

The Top 3 HR Issues stated by Delegates attending The Human Resources Forum 2007.

When delegates completed their questionnaire for this year's Forum they were asked a series of questions including:

  • Which 3 key HR issues will you be addressing over the next 12-18 months?

Of the 150 delegates who have already responded, we have identified the top 3 HR issues on board this year's forum. They are:

  1. Employee engagement and Retention; Reward and Recognition
  2. Resourcing; Talent Management; Succession Planning
  3. Organisational Cultural Change

If your company has products or services that can help delegates to meet these specific challenges then we would like to tell you how many meetings we can arrange for you, at this year's forum, with them.

Authentic Leads and Leadership

A case study about:

SFL - a leadership and change management consultancy who tell us about their first time experience on board the Human Resources Forum in May 2006.

The reasons given by SFL for attending the Human Resources Forum 2006 are certainly pretty standard. The leadership and change management consultancy, founded in December 2003, wanted to increase awareness of its services amongst the HR community and to obtain some strong leads. But there is nothing standard about its business proposition, and it is not hard to see why it might be easier to explain this through in-depth conversations at formal meetings and meal-times than through press advertising or snatched conversations at exhibition stands.

Working very closely with leading academics, such as Harvard Business School's Professor John Kotter, SFL applies academic theory to the workplace by translating it into everyday language. "We help our customers with the people aspects of change, and implement a measurable, sustainable and authentic leadership culture aligned to the vision and values of the customer" explains John Fay MBE, the company's founder and managing director. "We are about authentic, not JFDI, leadership. "British plc has a tremendous opportunity to improve its genuine leadership capabilities, and we want to be at the forefront of this. We are, to my knowledge, the only company that uses this approach, and our first year at the Forum has certainly proved effective for getting the message across."

John, who was awarded his MBE in 2004 for his work in the development of leadership programmes, is hoping to pick up several accounts as a direct result of being on board the Oriana. His formal one-to-one half hour meetings produced three strong prospects and a further eight organisations might be willing to attend follow-up meetings. As he was attending the Forum for the first time, John had come on his own to test the water. But for the 2007 event, he intends to be accompanied by a colleague. He says "The occasion is very important for networking, listening and sharing ideas, and the calibre of attendees was much higher than at exhibitions. It should certainly prove a useful activity for helping us to get known and to achieve our aim of becoming the number one consultancy in the UK for change management and leadership within the next five years. "But you need to do some thorough preparation if you want to get the most out of it. We researched everyone we saw, looking at the detailed information given by the organisers, studying individual company websites and paying attention to personal needs and areas of interest."
